The new album by Lenny Zenith

He/Hymn” is a deeply personal album for Lenny who drew inspiration from his own personal experiences. The songs on the album chronicle the complexities of human relationships, capturing the raw emotions of heartbreak, longing, and the ultimate search for healing.

From the soaring rock anthem “One Of Us Should Go” and the old-school country of “Beards of Grey” to the delicate ballads of “Partly Cloudy Dog” and “Mask”, ‘He/Hymn’ showcases Lenny’s versatility as a songwriter and performer. The album features a rich tapestry of instrumentation, including guitars, drums, piano, strings and pedal steel, creating a cinematic soundscape that perfectly complements the emotional weight of the lyrics.

The album includes guitar work from friends Jimmy Robinson (Woodenhead, New Orleans) and Andrew Solin (Parker Woodland, Austin) with assistance from Tommy Mandel (Bryan Adams, Dire Straits, Clash) on keyboards, Jeff Hermanson (trumpet), Ron Raymond (pedal steel) and featuring his friend James Pertusi (Ditty Committee, Sharp Things) on bass, vocals and as producer. Leonard Cohen’s longtime drummer, Rafael Gayol played on most of the tracks while Lenny’s  longtime friends Steven Fisher (Gina Schock, Pop Combo), Scott Campbell (Josh Flagg) and Rohin Khemani offered drum tracks on other tracks.

The album was mastered by Emerson Mancini (Lizzo, Jon Batiste, Kendrick Lamar) at Demifuge Studios. The cover art is by Five Eight guitarist, Sean Dunn.

Lenny’s exceptional songwriting shines throughout the album. Their lyrics are honest, relatable, and often poetic, delving into the universal themes of love, loss, and the human condition. Each song on “He/Hymn” is a miniature masterpiece, telling a unique story while contributing to the overall narrative of the album.
